Ahh, how I love portraits. The endless challenge of trying to portray the soul of another person on a piece of paper with just pencil and pigment is both exhausting and endlessly fascinating. It's way beyond only trying to get a likeness of the person, a portrait is the artist's representation of another person's spirit and likeness, and mood and so much more.
